Since the fall of 2008, Sam Morris has been a successful publicist with a track record for creating buzz for a host of arts and theater clients in New York City. He has secured features in numerous major media outlets including The New York Times, The New York Post, The New York Daily News, amNY, Time Out New York, Newsday, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Backstage, FOX5, Bloomberg, WNYC, and The Huffington Post. He has also worked with several high profile individuals on projects such as NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Adrian Grenier, five-time Oscar-nominated cinematographer Caleb Deschanel, Tony Award-winner Cady Huffman, and Grammy Award-nominee David Chesky.
Sam primarily works with theater productions, and many of his past clients have enjoyed rave reviews and sold out runs. These have included the FringeNYC productions of Burning in China (2010), When Last We Flew (2010), Afterlight (2009 at the Cherry Lane), and Victoria & Frederick for President (2009), the NY Musical Theater Festival productions of TESS – A New Rock Opera (2010), The Most Ridiculous Thing You Ever Hoid (2010), Max Understood (2009), The Cure (2009), and Wood (2008), as well as Closer (2009 at the Gene Frankel Theatre), The Libertine (2010 at the American Theatre of Actors), and Kate Dawson’s one woman show The A**hole In My Head (2010 at Birdland Jazz Club).
